Anthony Chamungwana is a distinguished Investment Banker and Governance Expert with over 22 years of experience in banking, finance, strategy, and risk management. As founder and CEO of Intercapital Limited, he leads one of Africa’s premier multi-disciplinary advisory firms. His career includes senior roles at Merrill Lynch (USA), CRDB Bank PLC as Director of Treasury, National Microfinance Bank as Treasury Manager, and Tanzania Development Finance Company Limited as Group Assistant Treasurer.
Mr. Chamungwana currently serves as Chairman of AMREF Health Africa Tanzania and previously chaired World Vision Tanzania’s board. He has served on boards of Habitat for Humanity Tanzania and Simusolar Inc. (USA). He is a member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya), Tanzania Institute of Bankers, Global Association of Risk Professionals, and African Venture Capital Association. He holds an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Finance from United States International University.
Under his leadership, Intercapital Limited serves private sector corporations, governments, NGOs, and development partners throughout Africa. His expertise spans green finance, corporate governance, risk management, strategy formulation, and capital raising. His vision focuses on delivering integrated sustainable solutions that address complex business challenges across the continent.
